anekārthamanānārthamanāgamamanirgamam ||
yaḥ pratītyasamutpādaṁ prapañcopaśamaṁ śivam |
deśayāmāsa saṁbuddhastaṁ vande vadatāṁ varam ||
pratītyasamutpāda iti kasmāducyate ? sahetukaḥ sapratyayo nāhetuko nāpratyaya ityucyate | atha ca punarayaṁ pratītyasamutpādo dvābhyāṁ kāraṇābhyāmutpadyate | katamābhyāṁ dvābhyāṁ kāraṇābhyāmutpadyate ? hetūpanibandhataḥ pratyayopanibandhataśceti | so'pi dvividho draṣṭavyaḥ-bāhyaśca ādhyātmikaśca ||
tatra bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandhaḥ katamaḥ ? yadidaṁ bījādaṅkuraḥ, aṅkurātpatram, patrātkāṇḍam, kāṇḍānnāḍam, nāḍāddaṇḍaḥ, daṇḍādgarbhaḥ, garbhācchūkaḥ, śūkātpuṣpam, puṣpātphalamiti | asati bīje aṅkuro na bhavati, evaṁ yāvat asati puṣpe phalaṁ na bhavati | sati tu bīje aṅkurasya abhinirvṛttirbhavati, evaṁ yāvat sati ca puṣpe phalasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra ca punarbījasya naivaṁ bhavati-ahamaṅkuraṁ nirvartayāmīti | etena nirīhatvam | aṅkurasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ bījenābhinirvartita iti | evaṁ yāvatpuṣpasya naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ phalamabhinirvartayāmīti | phalasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ puṣpeṇābhinirvartita iti | atha bīje sati ca kāraṇabhūte aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati, evaṁ yāvatpuṣpe sati phalasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evaṁ ca bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||
punaḥ kathaṁ bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ? ṣaṇṇāṁ dhātūnāṁ samavāyāt | svabhāvadhāraṇāddhātuḥ | katameṣāṁ ṣaṇṇāṁ dhātūnāṁ samavāyāt ? yadidaṁ pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśadhātusamanvayādbāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ | tatra pṛthividhāturbījasya saṁdhāraṇakṛtyaṁ karoti, abdhāturbījaṁ snehayati, tejodhāturbījaṁ paripācayati, vāyudhāturbījamabhinirharati, ākāśadhāturbījasyānāvaraṇakṛtyaṁ karoti, ṛturapi bījasya pariṇāmakṛtyaṁ karoti | asatsu pratyayeṣu bījādaṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirna bhavati | yadā bāhyaśca pṛthivīdhāturavikalo bhavati, evamaptejovāyvākāśaṛtudhātavaścāvikalā bhavanti, tatasteṣāṁ sarveṣāṁ samavāyādbīje nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra pṛthivīdhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ bījasya dhāraṇākṛtyaṁ karomi iti | evaṁ yāvadṛtorapi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ bījasya pariṇāmanākṛtyaṁ karomi iti | aṅkurasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayairjanita iti | atha punaḥ satsu pratyayeṣu teṣu bīje nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | sa cāyamaṅkuro na svayaṁkṛto na parakṛto nobhayakṛto neśvaranirmito na kālapariṇāmito na prakṛtisaṁbhūto nākāraṇādhīno nāpyahetusamutpannaśca | pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśadhātusamavāyādbije nirudhyamāne aṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati | evaṁ bāhyasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||
tatra bāhyaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? na śāśvatato nocchedato na saṁkrāntitaḥ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ tatsadṛśānuprabandhataśceti | kathaṁ na śāśvatata iti ? yasmādanyo'ṅkuro'nyadbījam, na ca yadeva bījaṁ sa evāṅkuraḥ | atha ca punarbījaṁ nirudhyate, aṅkuraścotpadyate | ato na śāśvatataḥ || kathaṁ punarnocchedataḥ ? na ca pūrvaniruddhādbījādaṅkuro niṣpadyate, nāpyaniruddhādbījāt | api ca bījaṁ ca nirudhyate, tasminneva samaye'ṅkura utpadyate, tulādaṇḍonnāmāvanāmavat | ato nocchedataḥ || kathaṁ na saṁkrāntitaḥ ? visadṛśo bījādaṅkura ityato na saṁkrāntitaḥ || kathaṁ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ ? parīttaṁ bījamupyate (vyāptitvāt-avyā) vipulaṁ phalamabhinirvartayati, ityataḥ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ || kathaṁ tatsadṛśānubandhataḥ ? yādṛśaṁ bījamupyate tādṛśaṁ phalamabhinirvartayati, ityataḥ tatsadṛśānubandhataśceti | evaṁ bāhyaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ ||
tatra punaścādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandhaḥ katamaḥ ? yadidamavidyāpratyayāḥ saṁskārāḥ, yāvajjātipratyayaṁ jarāmaraṇamiti | avidyā cennābhaviṣyat, naivaṁ saṁskārāḥ prajñāsyante | evaṁ yāvadyadi jātirnābhaviṣyat (skandhānāṁ pañcānāṁ prādurbhāvo jātiriti), tatra jarāmaraṇaṁ na prajñāsyate | atha ca satyāmavidyāyāṁ saṁskārāṇāmabhinirvṛttirbhavatīti | tatrāvidyāyā naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ saṁskārānabhinirvartayāmīti | punaḥ sarvasaṁskārāṇāmapyevaṁ na bhavati-vayamavidyayā abhinirvartitā iti | evaṁ yāvajjāteḥ(skandhaprādurbhāvasya) naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ jarāmaraṇamabhinirvartayāmīti | jarāmaraṇasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ jātyābhinirvartita iti | atha ca satyāmavidyāyāṁ saṁskārāṇāmabhinirvṛttiebhavati prādurbhāva eva, evaṁ yāvat jātyāṁ satyāṁ jarāmaraṇasyābhinirvṛttiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evamādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya hetūpanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||
punaḥ kathamādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ? yadidaṁ pṛthivyaptejovāyvākāśavijñānadhātūnāṁ samavāyādādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ | tatrādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pṛthivīdhātuḥ katama iti ? yo'yaṁ kāyasya saṁśleṣataḥ (saṁparkāt) kaṭhinabhāvamabhinirvartayati, ayamucyate pṛthivīdhātuḥ || yaḥ punaḥ kāyasya parigrahakṛtvaṁ (svīkārasaṁcayakṛtyaṁ) karoti, ayamucyate abdhātuḥ || yaśca punaḥ kāyasya aśitaṁ pītaṁ bhakṣitaṁ paripācayati ayamucyate tejodhātuḥ || yaḥ kāyasya āśvāsapraśvāsakṛtyaṁ (vāyorākarṣaṇamāśvāsaḥ etatkṛtyaṁ) karoti, ayamucyate vāyudhātuḥ || yaḥ kāyasyāntaḥśauṣiryabhāvamabhinirvartayati, ayamucyate ākāśadhātuḥ || yo nāmarūpamabhinirvartayati naḍakalāpayogena cakṣurādipañcavidhavijñānakāya (vijñānasamūha)- saṁyuktaṁ sāsravaṁ (sāvaraṇaṁ) manovijñānam, ayamucyate vijñānadhātuḥ || asatsu pratyayeṣu kāyasyotpattirna bhavati | yadā cādhyātmikaḥ pṛthivīdhāturavikalo bhavati, evamaptejovāyvākāśavijñānadhātavaścāvikalā bhavanti, tatsteṣāṁ sarveṣāṁ samavāyātkāyasyotpattirbhavati | tatra pṛthivīdhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyasya kaṭhinatvamabhinirvartayāmīti | abdhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyasyānuparigrahaṁ karomīti | tejodhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyasya aśitapītakhāditaṁ paripācayāmīti | vāyudhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyasyāśvāsapraśvāsakṛtyaṁ karomīti | ākāśadhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyasyāntaḥśauṣiryabhāvamabhinirvartayāmīti | vijñānadhātornaivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ kāyamabhinirvartayāmīti | kāyasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayaviśeṣairjanita iti || atha ca satsu pratyayeṣu kāyasyotpattirbhavati ||
tatra pṛthivīdhāturnātmā (na mukto na baddho) na jīvo na janturna manujo na mānavo na strī na puruṣo na napuṁsakaṁ na cāhaṁ na ca mama, nāpyanyasya kasyacit | (evaṁ abdhātustejodhāturvāyudhāturākāśadhāturvijñānadhāturnātmā.............. nāpyanyasya kasyacit ) ||
tatrāvidyā katamā ? yā eṣveva ṣaḍdhātuṣu ekasaṁjñā piṇḍasaṁjñā nityasaṁjñā dhruvasaṁjñā śāśvatasaṁjñā sukhasaṁjñā sattvajīvajantupoṣapuruṣapudgalamanujamānavasaṁjñā ahaṁkāramamakārasaṁjñā, evamādi vividhamajñānam, iyamucyate avidyeti | evamavidyāyāṁ satyāṁ viṣayeṣu rāgadveṣamohāḥ pravartante | tatra ye rāgadveṣamohā viṣayeṣu, amī ucyante saṁskārā iti || vastuprajñaptiḥ (indriyavijñānacetanā) vijñānam || vijñānasahajāścatvāra upādānaskandhāḥ, tannāmarūpam | nāmarūpasaṁśritānīndriyāṇi ṣaḍāyatanam | trayāṇāṁ dharmāṇāṁ saṁnipātaḥ sparśaḥ, (viṣayendriyavijñānasaṁnipāta ityarthaḥ) | sparśānubhāvo vedanā | vedanādhyavasānaṁ tṛṣṇā (adhyavasānaṁ kāṅkṣā sukhādyanubhavaḥ) | tṛṣṇāvaipulyamupādānam | upādānanirjātaṁ punarbhavajanakaṁ karma bhavaḥ | bhavahetukaḥ skandhaprādurbhāvo jātiḥ | skandhaparipāko jarā (skandhajīrṇatetyarthaḥ) | skandhavināśo maraṇam | mriyamāṇasya mūḍhasya sābhiṣvaṅgasyāntardāhaḥ śokaḥ | śokenālapanaṁ paridevanam | cakṣurādipañcavijñānakāyasaṁyuktaṁ asātānuśayanaṁ duḥkhapaścāttāpaṁ duḥkha(m) | manasikāra saṁprayuktaṁ mānasaṁ duḥkha(m) daurmanasyam | ye cāpyanye evamādayaḥ kleśāḥ, upakleśā upāyāsāḥ (manovikalpajātamāyāśāṭhyadainyakāmarāgādayaste sarve | peyālam) ||
punaraparam-tattve'pratipattiḥ mithyāpratipattirajñānam (saṁvṛtiparamārthayorvibhāgājñānaṁ ajñānam) | avidyāyāṁ satyāṁ trividhāḥ saṁskārā abhinirvartante-puṇyopagā apuṇyopagā aniñjyopagāśceti saṁbhāvyante avidyāpratyayāḥ saṁskārā iti | puṇyopagānāṁ saṁskārāṇāṁ puṇyopagameva vijñānaṁ bhavati, apuṇyopagānāṁ saṁskārāṇāṁ apuṇyopagameva vijñānaṁ bhavati, aniñjyopagānāṁ saṁskārāṇāmaniñjyo pagameva vijñānaṁ bhavati | idamucyate saṁskārapratyayaṁ vijñānamiti || tadevaṁ vijñānapratyayaṁ nāmarūpam || nāmarūpavivṛddhyā ṣaḍbhirāyatagadvāraiḥ kṛtyakriyā(ḥ) pravartante, tannāmarūpapratyayaṁ ṣaḍāyatanamucyate || ṣaḍbhya āyatanebhyaḥ ṣaṭ sparśakāyasamūhāḥ pravartante, ayaṁ ṣaḍāyatanapratyayaḥ sparśa ucyate || yajjātīyaḥ sparśo bhavati, tajjātīyā vedanā pravartate, iyaṁ sparśapratyayā vedanā ucyate || yastāṁ vedanā (vedayāti) viśeṣeṇāsvādayati abhinandati adhyavasa(sya ?)ti (kāṅkṣati) adhitiṣṭhati, sā vedanāpratyayā tṛṣṇetyucyate || āsvādanābhinandanaṁ ādhyavasāyasthānam, na me priyarūpasātarūpaiḥ pañcabhiḥ kāmaguṇairviyogo bhavatu aparityāgaḥ, bhūyobhūyaśca prārthanā, idaṁ tṛṣṇāpratyayamupādānamityucyate || evaṁ prārthayamānaḥ punarbhavajanakaṁ karma samutthāpayati kāyena manasā vācā, sa upādānapratyayo bhava ityucyate || yat karmanirjātānāṁ skandhānāmabhinirvṛttiḥ, sā bhavapratyayā jātirityucyate || yo jātyabhinirvṛttānāṁ skandhānāmupacayaparipākādvināśo bhavati, tadidaṁ jātipratyayaṁ jarāmaraṇamityucyate | ( peyālam, tatra avidyādiṣu śokaparidevaduḥkhadaurmanasyopāyāsāḥ peyālārthena nidarśitāḥ ) ||
tatra vijñānaṁ bījasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | karma kṣetrasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | avidyā tṛṣṇā ca kleśasvabhāvatvena hetuḥ | karmakleśā vijñānabījaṁ janayanti | tatra karma vijñānabījasya kṣetrakāryaṁ karoti, tṛṣṇā vijñānabījaṁ snehayati, avidyā vijñānabījamavakirati | satāmeṣāṁ pratyayānāṁ vijñānabījasya abhinirvṛttirbhavati | tatra karmaṇo naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ vijñānabījasya kṣetrakāryaṁ karomīti | tṛṣṇāyā api naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ vijñānabījaṁ snehayāmīti | avidyāyā api naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ vijñānabījamavakirāmīti | vijñānabījasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayai(pratītyotpādai)rjanita iti || api tu vijñānabījaṁ karmakṣetrapratiṣṭhitaṁ tṛṣṇāsnehābhisyanditamavidyāvakīrṇaṁ virohati | nāmarūpāṅkurasyābhinirvṛttirbhavati || sa cāsau nāmarūpāṅkuro na svayaṁkṛto na parakṛto nobhayakṛto neśvaranirmito na kālapariṇāmito na prakṛtisaṁbhūto nākāraṇādhīno nāpyahetusamutpannaḥ | atha na mātāpitṛsaṁyogāt ṛtusamavāyādanyeṣāṁ ca pratyayānāṁ samavāyādāsvādātprabuddhaṁ vijñānabījaṁ tatratropapattyā mātuḥ kukṣau nāmarūpāṅkuramabhinirvartayati, asvāmikeṣu (dharmanairātmyena) adharmeṣu (pudgalanairātmyena) amameṣu aparigraheṣu apratyarthikeṣu ākāśasameṣu māyālambanasvabhāveṣu, hetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | (peyālam, peyālaśabdena sāvaśeṣaṁ nirdiśati) ||
tadyathā-pañcabhiḥ kāraṇaiścakṣurvijñānamutpadyate | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? cakṣuśca pratītya rūpaṁ ca ālokaṁ ca ākāśaṁ ca tajjamanasikāraṁ ca pratītya utpadyate cakṣurvijñānam | tatra cakṣurvijñānasya cakṣurāśrayakṛtyaṁ karoti, rūpamālambanakṛtyaṁ karoti, āloko'vabhāsakṛtyaṁ karoti, ākāśamanāvaraṇakṛtyaṁ karoti, tajjamanasikāraḥ samanvāharaṇakṛtyaṁ karoti | asatsu pratyayeṣu cakṣurvijñānaṁ notpadyate | yadā cakṣurādhyātmikamāyatanamavikalaṁ bhavati, evaṁ rūpālokākāśatajjamanasikārāścāvikalā bhavanti, tataḥ sarveṣāṁ samavāyāccakṣurvijñānasyotpattirbhavati | tatrāpi cakṣuṣo naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ cakṣurvijñānasya āśrayakṛtyaṁ karomīti | rūpasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ cakṣurvijñānasya avalambanakṛtyaṁ karomīti | ālokasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ cakṣurvijñānasya avabhāsakṛtyaṁ karomīti | ākāśasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ cakṣurvijñānasya anāvaraṇakṛtyaṁ karomīti | tajjamanasikārasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahaṁ cakṣurvijñānasya samanvāharaṇakṛtyaṁ karomīti | cakṣurvijñānasyāpi naivaṁ bhavati-ahamebhiḥ pratyayasamavāyairjanita iti | atha ca satsu pratyayeṣu cakṣurvijñānasyotpattiḥ prādurbhāvo bhavati | evaṁ śeṣāṇāmindriyāṇāṁ yathāyogaṁ kartavyam || tatra pratītyasamutpāde na kaściddharmo asmāllokātparalokaṁ saṁkrāmati, (iti śāśvatāntaniṣedhaḥ), asti ca karmaphalaprativijñaptihetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | (peyālam) | yathā agnirupādānavaikalyānna jvalati, upādānāvaikalyācca jvalati, evameva karmakleśajanitaṁ vijñānabījaṁ tatratatropapattyā āyatanapratisaṁdhau mātuḥ kukṣau nāmarūpāṅkuramabhinirvartayati, asvāmikeṣu adharmeṣu aparigraheṣu apratyarthikeṣu ākāśasameṣu māyālakṣaṇasvabhāveṣu, hetupratyayānāmavaikalyāt | evaṁ ādhyātmikasya pratītyasamutpādasya pratyayopanibandho draṣṭavyaḥ ||
tatra ādhyātmikaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pañcabhiḥ kāraṇairdraṣṭavyaḥ | katamaiḥ pañcabhiḥ ? yaduta na śāśvatataḥ, nocchedataḥ, na saṁkrāntitaḥ, parittahetutaḥ vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ, tatsadṛśānubandhataśceti | kathaṁ na śāśvatataḥ ? yasmādanye maraṇāntikāḥ skandhāḥ, anye aupapattyaṁśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavanti | na tu ya eva maraṇāntikāḥ skandhāḥ, ta eva aupapattyaṁśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavantīti na | ato hetorna śāśvatataḥ || kathaṁ punarnocchedataḥ ? na ca pūrvaniruddheṣu maraṇāntikeṣu skandheṣu aupapattyaṁśikāḥ skandhāḥ prādurbhavanti, nāpyaniruddheṣu | api tu maraṇāntikāḥ skandhā nirudhyante, tasminneva samaye aupapattikāśca skandhāḥ punarbhavanti, prādurbhavanti, tulādaṇḍonnāmāvanāmavat | ato nocchedataḥ || kathaṁ na saṁkrāntita iti ? visadṛśāt sattvanikāyāt visabhāgāḥ skandhā jātyantareṣvabhinirvartante, ato na saṁkrāntitaḥ || kathaṁ parīttahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ ? parīttaṁ karma kriyate, vipulaphalavipāko'nubhūyate, ataḥ parittahetuto vipulaphalābhinirvṛttitaḥ || kathaṁ tatsadṛśānuprabandhataḥ ? yathāvedanīyaṁ karma kriyate, tathāvedanīyo vipāko'nubhūyate, atastatsadṛśānuprabandhataśceti ||
yaḥ kaścidbhadanta śāradvatīputra imaṁ pratītyasamutpādaṁ bhagavatā tathāgatena samyakpraṇītaṁ yathābhūtaṁ samyakprajñayā satatasamitaṁ ajīvaṁ nirjīvaṁ yathāvad(vi)parītaṁ ajātaṁ abhūtaṁ akṛtaṁ asaṁskṛtaṁ apramitaṁ anāvaraṇaṁ śivaṁ abhayaṁ ahāryaṁ avyayaṁ avyupaśamasvabhāvaṁ paśyati, asatyato'saktataḥ asārato rogato gaṇḍataḥ śalyato'nityataḥ duḥkhataḥ śūnyato'nātmataḥ samanupaśyati, sa na pūrvāntaṁ pratisarati-kimahamabhūvamatīte'dhvani āhosvinnābhūvamatīte'dhvani, ko nvahamabhūvamatīte'dhvani | aparāntaṁ vā punarna pratisarati-kiṁ nu bhaviṣyāmyahamanāgate'dhvani, āhosvinna bhaviṣyāmyahamanāgate'dhvani, ko nvahaṁ bhaviṣyāmīti | pratyutpannaṁ vā punarna pratisarati-kiṁ nvidam, kathaṁsvididam, ki santaḥ ke bhaviṣyāma iti ||
āryadaśabhūmake'pyuktam- "tatrāvidyātṛṣṇokādānaṁ kleśavartmano vyavacchedaḥ, saṁskārā bhavaśca karmavartmano vyavacchedaḥ, pariśeṣaṁ duḥkhavartmano vyavacchedaḥ | (avidyāpratyayāḥ) saṁskārā ityeṣā pūrvāntikī apekṣā, vijñānaṁ yāvadvedaneti eṣā pratyutpannāpekṣā, tṛṣṇā yāvadbhava iti eṣā aparāntikī apekṣā, ata ūrdhvamasya pravṛttiriti | peyālam ||" "tasyaivaṁ bhavati-saṁyogāt saṁskṛtaṁ pravartate, visaṁyogānna pravartate | sāmagryā saṁskṛtaṁ pravartate, visāmagryā na pravartate | hanta, vayamevaṁ bahudoṣaduṣṭaṁ saṁskṛtaṁ viditvā asya saṁyogasya asyāśca sāmagryā vyavacchedaṁ kariṣyāmaḥ, na cātyantopaśamaṁ sarva-saṁskārāṇāmadhigamiṣyāmaḥ sattvaparipācanatāyai" iti || idaṁ saṁkṣepānmohaśodhanam ||
tattvaṁ adharasaṁvṛttyakṣaraṁ saṁvṛtisvabhāvasarvadharmānutpādajñānam | tadāha-rūpaṁ tu dvividham, -varṇataḥ saṁsthānataḥ | te ca viṁśatidhā, tatra nīlādi nava, dīrghādyekādaśa | etatsarvaṁ rūpaṁ pāramārthikaṁ nāstīti pratijñā, svarūpeṇa hetuḥ | svahetunā tathaiva janito yathāvat paramārthikaṁ tu | yathā jalacandraḥ iti dṛṣṭāntaḥ | svarūpeṇa nāsti rupamityasyāyamabhiprāyaḥ | "pararūpeṇa rūpaṁ nāsti, svarūpeṇa vā ubhayarūpeṇa vā anubhayarūpeṇa veti" śāstram || utpādakahetupakṣo vikalpaḥ ||
"na sat nāsat na sadasat na cāpyanubhayātmakam" | iti śāstram || || kartṛpakṣo vikalpaḥ, tatra vilomnā nidarśanam |
"na sannāsanna sadasanna cāpyanubhayātmakam |
catuḥkoṭivinirmuktaṁ tattvaṁ mādhyamikā viduḥ" ||
"na svati nāpi parato na dvābhyāṁ nāpyahetutaḥ |
utpannā jātu dṛśyante bhāvāḥ kvacana kecana" ||
tatra sato vidyamānasyotpādāyogāt vidyamānasyotpāde niravadhijanmaprasaṅgenānavasthā syāt | asadutpāde śaśaviṣāṇādīnāmutpādaprasaṅgāddhetoḥ prāk asaditi cet, tadeva cintyate-hetoḥ kimutpadyate sadasadvā ? ubhayātmakasyotpāde viruddhadharmayorekasvabhāvatābhyupagamaḥ kathaṁ syāt ? bhavatu viruddhadharmabandhanasvarūpaṁ ca pararūpanimittakam | tacca pararūpaṁ viruddhadharmābhyāsaḥ, sa ca bhedakaḥ | yatra parapratipattistatra kiṁ svarūpapratipattireva nāsti ? pratītirasti, na svarūpapratipattiḥ | iyameva pratītiriti cet, tarhi apratītireva pratītiḥ | kiṁ brūmaḥ ? atha ghaṭe paṭābhāvo'sti | ghaṭaḥ paṭo na bhavatīti cet, miśrapratītirapi nāsti | tasmāt ghaṭo bhāvābhāvātmakaḥ, ataḥ siddhāḥ dvirūpatā | satyam, yadi vyavahartavyaikaśarīratāṁ tyaktvā prasahya rūpasyābhāvasya kiṁcidrūpaṁ syāt, tatra hyananyagatikobhayābhāvasvarūpopalambhāt abhāvo vyavahriyate ghaṭasyeti | tasmānna dvisvabhāvasya janma | ahetukotpannaṁ sarvaṁ sarvasmādutpadyate | atha hetuśabdo na nityaikaheturapekṣitaḥ, tasyotpāde sarvadaiva udayavyayau syātām, nityaikahetūtpannāpekṣāyā ayogāt | parāpekṣāyāṁ so'pi anityaḥ, anityaṁ prati vikalpe sarvaṁ pūrvadāpadyate ||
ataḥ svasmāt svayamutpadyate, anyasmādvā ? nādyaḥ, prāganutpannaḥ svayamutpadyate | kimanutpannena rūpeṇa utpannena vā ? anutpannena rūpeṇa anutpanna evotpannaḥ, anutpādena rūpeṇotpādāyogāt | atha prāgabhāvaḥ anutpannaśabdavācyaḥ, tat kiṁ prāgabhāvaḥ svena rūpeṇotpadyate ? yadyevam, tadā abhāvanaṁ bhāvaḥ, paścādbhāva iti cet, tatra kimabhāva eva bhāvo bhavati ? evaṁ sati abhāvasya punaḥpunarutpāde na prayojanamutpaśyāmaḥ, anavadhirutpādaśceti pararūpeṇotpāde ca apūrvakotpāda evāṅgīkṛtaḥ syāt | na caivaṁ siddhāntaḥ, utpannena utpāde vā saṁsāreṣu utpādaviramābhāvaprasaṅgaḥ prayojanābhāvaśca | dvitīyo'pi na, anyasmādanyotpādāt | atha vā-svayameva anyarūpeṇa utpadyate, svātmani kāritravirodhaḥ, svātmani kriyāvirodhāt | na parata utpādaḥ, kutastatra siddhasya vā asiddhasya vā ? uktamatrottaram-siddhasya utpādena kim, asiddhasya utpāda eva nāsti | ityādinā'pi ubhayapakṣataḥ pratyekaṁ ye prasahu(jya ?)nte, dvayorbhāve kathaṁ na bhavati iti nyāyāt || nāpyahetutaḥ, sarvatra sarvadotpādaprasaṅgāt, tathā anutpādaprasaṅgācca | kuta etat ? asmātpramāṇāt | tadyathā-yat svatantraṁ na tat kādācitkam, yathā anyā sāmagrī | svātantryaṁ ca vivādapadam | tasmāt kādācitkatayā paratantratā vyāptā | yat kādācitkaṁ tatparatantram, yathā kuśūlatalanimīlitaṁ bījamaṅkurajananaṁ prati | kādācitkāśca bhāvāḥ | iti vivādapadam | yat paratantraṁ tatpratītyasamutpannam, yathā tadeva vījam | paratantrāśca bhāvā vivādapadam | yatpratītyotpannaṁ tannotpannaṁ svabhāvataḥ | yathā jalacandraḥ pratītyotpannaśca | paratantrāśca bhāvā vivādapadam ||
āryacandrapradīpasūtre -
yaḥ pratyayairjāyati sa hyajāto
na tasya utpāda sabhāvato'sti |
yaḥ pratyayādhīnu sa śūnya uktaḥ
yaḥ śūnyatāṁ jānati so'pramattaḥ ||
iti vacanaṁ dhāryaṁ manasikāryaṁ sarvathā sarvadā sarvadarśibhiḥ ||
