namaḥ samantabhadrāya|
ākṣiptavyatirekā ya vyāptiranvayarūpiṇī|
sādharmmyavati dṛṣṭānte sattvahetorihocyate||
yat sat tat kṣaṇikaṁ yathā ghaṭaḥ santaścāmī vivādāspadībhūtāḥ padārthā iti|
hetoḥ parokṣārthapratipādakatvaṁ hetvābhāsatvaśaṅkānirākaraṇamantareṇa na śakyate pratipādayituṁ| hetvābhāsāśca asidvavirudvānaikāntikabhedena trividhāḥ| tatra na tāvadayamasidvo hetuḥ| yadi nāma darśane darśane nānāprakāraṁ sattvalakṣaṇamuktamāste, arthakriyākāritvaṁ, sattāsamavāyaḥ, svarūpasattvaṁ, utpādavyayaghrauvyayogitvaṁ pramāṇaviṣayatvaṁ, sadupalambhapramāṇagocaratvaṁ vyapadeśaviṣayatvamityādi, tathāpi kimanena aprastutena idānīmeva niṣṭaṅkitena| yadeva hi pramāṇato nirūpyamāṇaṁ padārthānāṁ sattvamupapannaṁ bhaviṣyati; tadeva vayamapi svīkariṣyāmaḥ| kevalaṁ yadetadarthakriyākāritvaṁ sarvvajanaprasidvamāste; tat khalvatra sattvaśabdenābhisandhāya sādhanatvenopāttaṁ| tacca yathāyogaṁ pratyakṣānumānapramāṇaprasidvasadbhāveṣu bhāveṣu pakṣīkṛteṣu pratyakṣādinā pramāṇena pratītamiti na svarūpeṇāśrayadvāreṇa vā'sidvasambhāvanāpi||
nāpi viruddhaḥ| sapakṣīkṛte ghaṭe sadbhāvāt| nanu kathamasya sapakṣatvaṁ, pakṣavadatrāpi kṣaṇabhaṅgāsiddheḥ| nahyasya pratyakṣata kṣaṇabhaṅgasiddhiḥ| tathātvenāniścayāt| nāpi sattvānumānataḥ| punarnidarśanāntarāpekṣāyāmanavasthāprasaṅgāt| na cānyadanumānamasti|
sambhave vā tenaiva pakṣe'pi kṣaṇabhaṅgasidveralaṁ sattānumāneneti cet| ucyate| anumānāntarameva prasaṅgaprasaṅgaviparyyayātmakaṁ ghaṭe kṣaṇabhaṅgaprasādhakaṁ pramāṇāntaramasti, tathā ghaṭo varttamānakṣaṇe tāvat ekāmarthakriyāṁ karoti| atītānāgatakṣaṇayorapi kiṁ tāme vārthakriyāṁ kuryādanyāṁ vā, navā kāmapi kriyāmiti trayaḥ pakṣāḥ| nātra prathamapakṣo yuktaḥ kṛtasya karaṇāyogāt| atha dvitīyo'bhyupagamyate tadidamatra vicāryyatām| yadā ghaṭo varttamānakṣaṇabhāvi kāryyaṁ karoti tadā kimatītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvinyapi kāryye śakto'śakto vā| yadi śaktastadā varttamānakṣaṇabhāvikāryyavat atītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvyapi kāryyaṁ kuryyāt tatrāpi śaktatvāt śaktasya kṣepāyogāt| anyathā varttamānakṣaṇabhāvino'pi kāryyasyākaraṇaprasaṅgāt pūrvvāparakālayorapi śaktatvenāviśeṣāt, samarthasya ca sahakāryyapekṣāyā ayogāt| athāśaktastadā ekatra kāryye śaktāśaktatvaviruddhadharmmādhyāsāt kṣaṇavidhvaṁso ghaṭasya durvvāraprasaraḥ syāt|
nāpi tṛtīyaḥ pakṣaḥ saṅgacchate śaktasvabhāvānuvṛttereva| yadā hi śaktasya svabhāvasya vilambo'pyasahyastadā dūrītsāritamakaraṇam| anyathā vārttamānikasyāpi kāryyasyākaraṇaṁ syāt ityuktaṁ| tasmād yad yadā yajjananavyavahārapātraṁ, tattadā tat kuryyāt| akurvvacca na jananavyavahārabhājanam| tadevamekatra kāryye samarthetarasvabhāvatayā pratikṣaṇaṁ bhedāt ghaṭasya sapakṣatvamakṣatam|
atra prayogaḥ| yad yadā yajjananavyavahārayogyaṁ tattadā tajjanayatyeva| yathā antyā kāraṇasāmagrī svakāryyaṁ| atītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvikāryyajananavyavahārayogyaścāyaṁ ghaṭo varttamānakṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇakāle sakalakriyātikramakāle 'pīti svabhāvahetuprasaṅgaḥ| asya ca dvitīyādikṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇavyavahāragocaratvasya prasaṅgasādhanasya vārttamānikakāryyakaraṇakāle sakalakriyātikramakāle ca ghaṭe dharmmiṇi parābhyupagamamātrataḥ sidvatvāt asidvistāvadasambhavinī| nāpi virudvatā, sapakṣe antyakāraṇasāmagryāṁ sadbhāvasambhavāt|
nanvayaṁ sādhāraṇānaikāntiko hetuḥ| sākṣādajanake'pi kuśūlādyavasthita-vījādau vipakṣe samarthavyavahāragocaratvasya sādhanasya darśanāditi cet| na| dvividho hi samarthavyavahāraḥ pāramārthikaḥ aupacārikaśca| tatra yatpāramārthikam jananaprayuktaṁ jananavyavahāragocaratvaṁ tadiha sādhanatvenopāttaṁ| tasya ca kuśūlādyavasthita vījādau kāraṇakāraṇatvāt aupacārikajananavyavahāraviṣayabhūte sambhavābhāvāt kutaḥ sādhāraṇānaikāntikatā| na cāsya sandigdhavyatirekitā viparyyaye bādhakapramāṇasadbhāvāt| tathāhīdaṁ jananavyavahāragocaratvaṁ niyataviṣayatvena vyāptamiti sarvvajanānubhavasiddham| na cedaṁ nirnimittaṁ| deśakālasvabhāvaniyamābhāvaprasaṅgāt| na ca jananādanyannimittamupalabhyate| tadanvayavyatirekānuvidhānadarśanāt|
yadi ca jananamantareṇāpi jananavyavahāragocaratvaṁ syāt tadā sarvvasya sarvvatra jananavyavahāra ityaniyamaḥ syāt| niyataścāyaṁ pratītaḥ| tato jananābhāve vipakṣe niyataviṣayatvasya vyāpakasya nivṛttau nivarttamānaṁ jananavyavahāragocaratvaṁ janana eva viśrāmyatīti vyāptisidveranavadyo hetuḥ| na caiṣa ghaṭo varttamānakāryyakaraṇakṣaṇe sakalakriyātikramaṇe ca atītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvikāryyaṁ janayati| tato na jananavyavahārayogyaḥ| sarvvaḥ prasaṅgaḥ prasaṅgaviparyyayaniṣṭha iti nyāyāt|
atrāpi prayogaḥ| yadyadā yanna karoti| tattadā tatra samarthavyavahārayogyaṁ yathā śālyaṅkuramakurvvan kodravaḥ śālyaṅkure| na karoti caiṣa ghaṭo varttamānakṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇakāle sakalakriyātikramakāle cātītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvikāryyamiti vyāpakānupalabdhirbhinatti samarthakṣaṇādasamarthakṣaṇam|
atrāpyasiddhirnāsti varttamānakṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇakāle sakalakriyātikramakāle ca atītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇasyāyogāt| nāpi virodhaḥ sapakṣe bhāvāt| na cānaikāntikatā pūrvvoktena nyāyena samartha vyavahāragocaratvajanakatvayovidhibhūtayoḥ sarvvopasaṁhāravatyā vyāpteḥ prasādhanāt|
yatpunaratroktaṁ yadyadā yanna karoti na tattadā tatra samarthamityatra kaḥ karotyarthaḥ| kiṁ kāraṇatvaṁ ? tatkāryyotpādānuguṇasahakārisākalyaṁ ? āhosvit kāryyāvyabhicāraḥ ? kāryyasambandho veti? tatra kāraṇatvameva karotyarthaḥ| tataḥ pakṣāntarabhāvino doṣā anabhyupagamapratihatāḥ|
na cātrapakṣe kāraṇatvasāmarthyayoḥ paryyāyatvena vyāpakānupalambhasya sādhyāviśiṣṭatvamabhidhātumucitaṁ| samarthavyavahāragocaratvābhāvasya sādhyatvāt| kāraṇatvasamarthavyavahāragocaratvayośca bṛkṣaśiṁśapayoriva vyāvṛttibhedo'stītyanavasara eva evaṁvidhasya kṣudrapralāpasya| tadevaṁ prasaṅgaprasaṅgaviparyyayahetudvayabalato ghaṭe dṛṣṭānte kṣaṇabhaṅgaḥ siddhaḥ| tatkathaṁ sattvādanyadanumānaṁ dṛṣṭānte kṣaṇabhaṅgasādhakam| nāstītyucyate| na caivaṁ sattvahetorvaiyarthyaṁ| dṛṣṭāntamātra eva prasaṅgaprasaṅgaviparyyayābhyāṁ kṣaṇabhaṅgaprasādhanāt nanvābhyāmeva pakṣe'pi kṣaṇabhaṅgasiddhirastviti cet| astu ko doṣaḥ| yo hi pratipattā prativastu yadyadā yajjananavyavahārayogyaṁ tattadā tajjanayatītyā dikamupanyasituṁ analasastasya tata eva kṣaṇabhaṅgasiddhiḥ| yastu prativastu tannyāyopanyāsaprayāsabhīruḥ sa ttvekatradharmmiṇi yadyadā yajjananavyavahārayogyaṁ tattadā tajjanayatītyādinyāyena sattvamātramasthairyyavyāptamavadhāryyasattvādevānyatra kṣaṇikatvamavagacchatīti| kathamapramattovaiyarthyamasyācakṣīta tadevamekārthakāriṇo ghaṭasya dvitīyādikṣaṇabhāvikāryyāpekṣayā samarthetarasvabhāvavirudvadharmmā dhyāsāt bheda eveti kṣaṇabhaṅgatayā sapakṣatāmāvahati ghaṭe sattveheturupalabhyamāno na virudvaḥ|
na cāya manaikāntikaḥ| atraiva sādharmmyavati dṛṣṭānte sarvvopasaṁhāravatyā vyāpteḥ prasādhanāt| nanu viparyyaye bādhakapramāṇabalābdyāptisiddhistasya copanyāsavārttāpi nāsti tatkathaṁ vyāptiḥ prasādhiteti cet| tadetat taralatarabuddhivilasitaṁ| tathā hi uktametat varttamānakṣaṇabhāvikāryyakaraṇakāle atītānāgatakṣaṇabhāvikāryye'pi ghaṭasya śaktisambhave tadānīmevaitat karaṇamakaraṇe ca śaktāśaktasvabhāvatayā pratikṣaṇaṁ bheda iti kṣaṇikatvena vyāptaiva sā arthakriyāśaktiḥ|
nanvevaṁ anvayamātramastu vipakṣāt punarekāntena vyāvṛttiriti kuto labhyamiti cet, vyāptisiddhereva| byatirekasandehe vyāptisiddhireva kathamiti cet, na dvividhā hi vyāptisiddhiranvayarūpā ca karttṛdharmmaḥ| sādhanadharmmavati dharmmiṇi sādhyadharmmasyāvaśyambhāvo yaḥ| vyatirekarūpā ca karmmadharmmaḥ sādhyābhāve sādhanasyāvaśyamabhāvo yaḥ| enayoścaikatarapratītiniyamena dvitīyapratītimākṣipati| anyathā, ekasyāḥ eva siddhaḥ| tasmād| yathā viparyyaye bādhakapramāṇabalāt niyamavati vyatireke siddhe anvayaviṣayaḥ saṁśayaḥ pūrvvaṁ sthito'pi paścātparigalati| tato'nvayaprasādhanārthaṁ na pṛthaksādhanamucyate| tathā prasaṅgatadviparyyayahetudvayabalato niyamavatyanvaye siddhe vyatirekaviṣaye pūrvvaṁ sthito'pi sandehaḥ paścātparigalatyeva| na ca vyatirekasādhakamanyat pramāṇaṁ vyaktavyam| tataśca sādhyābhāve sādhanasyaikāntiko vyatirekaḥ| sādhane sati sādhyasyāvaśyamanvayo veti na kaścidarthabhedaḥ tadevaṁ viparyyayabādhakapramāṇamantareṇāpi prasaṅgaprasaṅgaviparyyayahetudvayabalāt anvayarūpavyāptisidvau sattvahetoranaikāntikasyābhāvādataḥ sādhanāt kṣaṇabhaṅgasidviranavadyeti|
nanu ca sādhanamidamasidvaṁ, na hi kāraṇabudhyā kāryyaṁ gṛhyate| tasya bhāvitvāt| na ca kāryyabudhyā kāraṇam| tasyātītatvāt| na ca varttamānagrāhiṇā jñānena atītānāgatayorgrahaṇamatiprasaṅgāt| na ca pūrvvāparayoḥ kālayorekaḥ pratisandhātā'sti kṣaṇabhaṅgabhaṅgaprasaṅgāt| kāraṇābhāve tu kāryyābhāvapratītiḥ svasambedanavādino manorathasyāpyaviṣayaḥ| na ca pūrbbotarakālayoḥ sambittī tābhyāṁ vāsanā tayā ca hetuphalāvasāyī vikalpa iti yuktaṁ| sa hi vikalpo gṛhītānusandhāyako'tadrūpasamāropako vā na prathamaḥ pakṣaḥ| ekasya pratisandhāturabhāve pūrvvāparagrahaṇayorayogāt| vikalpavāsanāyā evābhāvāt| nāpi dvitīyaḥ; marīcikāyāmapi jalavijñānaprāmāṇyaprasaṅgāt| tadevamanvayavyatirekayorapratipatterarthakriyālakṣaṇam sattvamasidvamiti||
kiñca prakārāntarādapīdaṁ sādhanamasidvaṁ| tathā hi vījādīnāṁ sāmarthyaṁ vījādijñānāt kāryyādaṅkurādervā niścetavyaṁ| kāryyatvañca vastutvasidvau sidhyati, vastutvañca kāryyāntarāt| kāryyāntarasyāpi kāryyatvaṁ vastutvasidvau| tadvastutvañca tadaparakāryyāntarādityanavasthā| athānavasthābhayāt paryyante kāryyāntaraṁ nāpekṣate, tadā tenaiva pūrvveṣāmasattvaprasaṅgāt naikasyāpyarthakriyāsāmarthyaṁ sidhyati| nanu kāryyatvasattvayorbhinnavyāvṛttikatvāt| sattāsidvāvapi kāryyatvasidvau kā kṣatiriti cet| tadasaṅgatam, satyapi kāryyatvasattvayorvyāvṛttibhede sattvasidvau kutaḥ kāryyatvasiddhiḥ| kāryyatvaṁ hyabhūtvābhāvitvaṁ, bhavanañca sattā| sattā ca saugatānāṁ sāmarthyameva| tataśca sāmarthyasandehe bhavatītyeva vaktumaśakyaṁ kathamabhūtvābhāvitvaṁ kāryyatvaṁ setsyati| apekṣitaparavyāpāratvaṁ kāryyatvamityapi nāsato dharmmaḥ sattvañca sāmarthyaṁ tacca sandigdhamiti kutaḥ kāryyasiddhiḥ| tadasidvau pūrvvasya sāmarthyaṁ na sidhyatīti sandigdhāsidvo hetuḥ|
tathā virudvo'pyayaṁ, tathā hi kṣaṇikatve sati na tāvat ajātasyānanvayanirudvasya vā kāryyārambhakatvaṁ sambhavati| na ca nispannasya tāvān kṣaṇo'sti yamupādāya kasmaicit kāryyāya vyāpāryyet| ataḥ kṣaṇikapakṣa eva arthakriyānupapattervirūdvatā| athavā vikalpena yadupanīyate, tatsarvvamavastu, tataśca vastvātmake kṣaṇikatve sādhye'vastūpasthāpayannanumānavikalpo virudvaḥ| yadvā, sarvvasyaiva hetoḥ kṣaṇikatve sādhye virudvatvaṁ deśakālāntarānanugame sādhyasādhanabhāvābhāvāt anugame ca nānākālamekamakṣaṇikaṁ kṣaṇikatvena virudhyata iti|
anaikāntiko'pyayaṁ sattvasthairyyayorvirodhābhāvāditi| pratrocyate|
yattāvaduktaṁ sāmarthyaṁ na pratīyata iti| tat kiṁ sarvvathaiva na pratīyate| kṣaṇabhaṅgapakṣe vā|
prathamapakṣe sakalakārakajñāpakahetucakrocchedāt mukhaspandanamātrasyāpyakaraṇaprasaṅgaḥ| anyathā yenaiva vacanena sāmarthyaṁ nāstīti pratipādyate tasyaiva tat pratipādanasāmarthyamavyāhatamāyātam| tasmāt paramapuruṣārthasamīhayā vastutattvanirūpaṇapravṛttasya śaktisvīkārapūrvvakaiva pravṛttiḥ| tadasvīkāre tu na kaścit kvacit pravartteteti nirīhaṁ jagajjāyate| atha dvitīyaḥ pakṣaḥ| tadāsti tāvat sāmarthyapratītiḥ| sā ca kṣaṇikatve yadi nopapadyate tadā virudvaṁ vaktumucitaṁ, asidvamiti tu nyāyabhūṣaṇīyaḥ prāyovilāpaḥ| na ca satyapi kṣaṇikatve sāmarthyapratītivyāghātaḥ| tathāhi kāraṇajñānopādeyabhūtena kāryyagrāhiṇā jñānena tadarpitasaṁskāragarbheṇa asya bhāve asya bhāva iti anvayaniścayo janyate, tathā kāraṇāpekṣayā bhūtalakaivalyagrāhijñānopādeyabhūtena kāryyāpekṣayā bhūtalakaivalyagrāhiṇā jñānena tadarpitasaṁskāragarbhaṇa asyābhāve asyābhāva iti vyatirekaniścayo janyate| yadāhurguravaḥ|
ekāvasāyasamanantarajātamanya-
vijñānamanvayavimarṣamupādadhāti|
evaṁ tadekavirahānubhavodbhavānya-
vyāvṛttadhīḥ prathayati vyatirekabuddhiṁ||
evaṁ sati gṛhītānusandhāyake evāyaṁ vikalpaḥ| upādānopādeyabhūtakramipratyakṣadvayagṛhītānusandhānāt| yadāhālaṅkāraḥ|
yadi nāmaikamadhyakṣaṁ na pūrvvāparavittimat|
adhyakṣadvayasadbhāve prākparāvedanaṁ kathamiti|
nāpi dvitīyo'sidvaprabhedaḥ| sāmarthyaṁ hi sattvamiti saugatānāṁ sthitireṣā| na caitat prasādhanārthamasmākamidānīmeva prārambhaḥ; kintu yatra pramāṇapratīte vījādau vastubhūte dharmmiṇi pramāṇapratītaṁ sāmarthya tatra kṣaṇābhaṅga sādhanāya| tataścāṅkurādīnāṁ kāryyādaśanāt āhatyasāmarthyasandehe'pi paṭupratyakṣaprasidvaṁ sanmātratvamavadhāryyameva| anyathā na kvacidapi vastumātrasyāpi pratipattiḥ syāt| tasmācchāstrīyasattvalakṣaṇasandehe'pi paṭupratyakṣavalāvalambitavastubhāve aṅkurādau kāryyatvamupalabhyamānaṁ vījādeḥ sāmarthyamupasthāpayatīti nāsidvidoṣāvakāśaḥ|
nāpi kśaṇikatve sāmarthyakṣatiḥ, yato virudvatā syāt, kṣaṇikatvaniyataprāgbhāvitvalakṣaṇakāraṇatvayovirodhābhāvāt, kṣaṇamātrasthāyinyapi sāmarthyasambhavāditi nādimo virodhaḥ| nāpi dvitīyo virodhaprabhedaḥ| avastuno vastuno vā svākārasya grāhyatve'pi, adhyavaseyavastvapekṣayaiva sarvvatra prāmāṇyapratipādanāt vastusvabhāvasyaiva kṣaṇikatvasidviriti kva virodhaḥ|
yacca gṛhyate yaccādhyavasīyate te dve api anyanivṛttī na vastunī svalakṣaṇāvagāhitve abhilāpasaṁsargānupapatteriti cet| na| adhyavasāyasvarūpāparijñānāt agṛhīte'pi vastuni mānasyādipravṛttikārakatvaṁ vikalpasyādhyavasāyitvaṁ, apratibhāse'pi pravṛttiviṣayīkṛtatvamadhyavaseyatvam| etaccādhyavaseyatvaṁ svalakṣaṇasyaiva yujyate, nānyasya| arthakriyārthitvāt arthipravṛtteḥ| evañcādhyavasāye svalakṣaṇasyāsphuraṇameva| na ca tasyāsphuraṇe'pi sarvvatrāviśeṣeṇa pravṛttyākṣepaprasaṅgaḥ, pratiniyatasāmagrīprasūtāt, pratiniyatasvākārāt, pratiniyataśaktiyogāt, pratiniyata evātadrūpaparāvṛtte apratīte'pi pravṛttisāmarthyadarśanāt| yathā sarvvasyāsattve'pi vījādaṅkurasyaivotpattiḥ dṛṣṭasya niyatahetuphalabhāvasya pratikṣeptumaśakyatvāt| paraṁ vāhyenārthena sati pratibandhe prāmāṇyamanyathātvaprāmāṇyamiti viśeṣaḥ|
tathā tṛtīyo'pi pakṣaḥ prayāsaphalaḥ| nānākālasyaikasya vastuno vastuto'sambhavepyatadrūpaparāvṛttayoreva sādhyasādhanayoḥ pratyakṣeṇa vyāptigrahaṇāt| dvividho hi pratyakṣasya viṣayo grāhyo'dhyavaseyaśca sakalātadrūpaparāvṛttaṁ vastumātraṁ sākṣādasphuraṇāt pratyakṣasya grāhyo viṣayo mā bhūt| tadekadeśagrahaṇe tu tanmātrayorvyāptiniścāyakavikalpajananādadhyavaseyo viṣayo bhavatyeva| kṣaṇagrahaṇe santānaniścayavat| rūpamātragrahaṇe ghaṭaniścayavacca| anyathā sarvvānumānocchedaprasaṅgāt| tathā hi vyāptigrahaḥ sāmānyayoḥ, viśeṣayoḥ, sāmānyaviśiṣṭaviśeṣayo rviśeṣaviśiṣṭasāmānyayorveti vikalpāḥ| nādyo vikalpaḥ sāmānyasya vādhyatvāt| avādhyatve'pyadṛśyatvāt| dṛśyatve'pi puruṣārthānupayogitayā tasyānumeyatvāyogāt| nāpyanumitāt sāmānyāt viśeṣānumānam, sāmānyasarvvaviśeṣayorvakṣyamāṇanyāyena pratibandhapratipatterayogāt| nāpi dvitīyo viśeṣasyānanugāmitvāt| antime tu vikalpadvaye sāmānyādhāratayā dṛṣṭa eva viśeṣaḥ sāmānyasya viśeṣyo viśeṣaṇaṁ vā karttavyaḥ| adṛṣṭa eva vā deśakālāntaravarttī| yadvā dṛṣṭādṛṣṭātmako deśakālāntarabartī atadrūpaparāvṛttaḥ sarvvo viśeṣaḥ| na prathamaḥ pakṣo'nanugāmittvāt; nāpi dvitīyaḥ, adṛṣṭatvāt| na ca tṛtīyaḥ, prastutaikaviśeṣadarśane'pi deśakālāntaravarttināmadarśanāt|
atha teṣāṁ sarvveṣāmeva viśeṣāṇāṁ sadṛśatvāt| sadṛśasāmagrīprasūtatvāt sadṛśakāryyakāritvāditi prattyāsattyā, ekaviśeṣagrāhakaṁ pratyakṣamatadrūpaparāvṛttamātreniścayaṁ janayadatadrūpaparāvṛttaviśeṣamātrasya vyavasthāpakam| yathaikasāmagrīpratibadvarūpamātragrāhakaṁ pratyakṣaṁ ghaṭe niścayaṁ janayadghaṭagrāhakaṁ byavasthāpyate| anyathā ghaṭo'pi ghaṭasantāno'pi pratyakṣato na sidhyet sarvvātmanā grahaṇābhāvāt| tadekadeśagrahaṇantvatadrūpaparāvṛtte'pyaviśiṣṭam| yadyevamanenaiva krameṇa sarvvasya viśeṣasya viśeṣaṇaviśeṣyabhāvavat vyāptipratipattirapyastu| tat kimarthaṁ nānākālamekakṣaṇikamabhyupagantavyaṁ yena kṣaṇikatve sādhanasya virudvatvaṁ syāt iti na kaścidvirodhaprabhedaprasaṅgaḥ|
na cāyamanekāntiko'pi hetuḥ| pūrvvoktakrameṇa sādharmmyadṛṣṭānte prasaṅgaviparyyayahetubhyāmanvayarūpavyāpteḥ prasādhanāt| nanu yadi prasaṅgaviparyyayahetudvayavalato ghaṭe dṛṣṭānte kṣaṇabhaṅgaḥ sidhyettadā sattvasya niyamena kṣaṇikatvena vyāptisidveranaikāntikatvaṁ na syāditi yuktam| kevala midamevāsambhavi| tathāhi śakto'pi ghaṭaḥ kramisahakāryyapekṣayā kramikāryyaṁ kariṣyati|
na caitad vaktavyaṁ samartho 'rthaḥ svarūpeṇa karoti| svarūpañca sarvvadāstītyanupakāriṇi sahakāriṇyapekṣā na yujyata iti, satyapi svarūpeṇa kārakatve sāmarthyābhāvātkathaṁ karoti, sahakārisākalyaṁ hi sāmarthyaṁ tadvaikalyañcāsāmarthyaṁ| na ca tayorāvirbhāvatirobhāvābhyāṁ tadvataḥ kācit kṣatiḥ| tasya tābhyāmanyatvāt| tasmādarthaḥ samartho'pi syāt na ca karotīti sandigdhavyatirekaḥ prasaṅgahetuḥ|
atrocyate| bhavatu tāvat sahakārisākalyameva sāmarthyaṁ| tathāpi so'pi tāvadbhāvaḥ svarūpeṇa kārakaḥ| tasya ca yādṛśaścaramakṣaṇe 'kṣepakriyādharmmā svabhāvaḥ tādṛśa eva cet prathamakṣaṇe tadā tadāpi prasahya kurbbāṇo brahmaṇāpyanivāryyaḥ| na ca so'pyakṣepakriyādharmmā svabhāvaḥ sākalye sati jāto bhāvādbhinna evābhidhātuṁ śakyaḥ| bhāvasyākarttṛtvaprasaṅgāt| evaṁ yāvadyāvat dharmāntaraparikalpastāvattāvadudāsīno bhāvaḥ| tasmādyadrūpamādāya svarūpeṇāpi janayatītyucyate; tasya prāgapi bhāve kathamajaniḥ kadācit| akṣepakriyāpratyanīkasvabhāvasya prācyasya paścādanuvṛttau kathaṁ kadācidapi kāryyasambhavaḥ| nanu yadi sa evaikaḥ karttā syāt yuktametat| kintu sāmagrī janikā tataḥ sahakāryyantaravirahavelāyāṁ balīyaso'pi na kāryyaprasava iti kimatra virudvaṁ| na hi bhāvaḥ svarūpeṇakarotīti svarūpeṇaiva karoti| sahakārisahitādeva tataḥ kāryyotpattidarśanāt| tasmādyāptivat kāryyakāraṇabhāvo'pi, ekatrānyayogabyavacchedena anyatrāyogavyavacchedena nāvabodvavyaḥ, tathaiva laukikaparīkṣakāṇāṁ sampratipatteriti|
atrocyate| yadā militāḥ santaḥ kāryyaṁ kurvvate tadaikārthakaraṇalakṣaṇaṁ sahakāritvamepāmastu ko niṣedvā? militaireva tu tatkāryya karttavyamiti kuto labhyate? pūrvvāparayorekasvabhāvatvādbhāvasya| sarvvadā jananājananayoranyataraniyataprasaṅgasya durvvāratvāt| tasmāt sāmagrī janika naikaṁ janakamiti sthiravādināṁ manorathasyāpyaviṣayaḥ| dṛśyate tāvadevamiti cet| dṛśyatāṁ kintu pūrvvasthitādeva sāmagrīmadhyapraviṣṭādbhāvāt kāryotpattiranyasmādeva vā viśiṣṭādbhāvādutpannāditi vivādapadam| tatra prāgapi sambhave sarvvadaiva kāryyotpatti rna vā kadācidapīti virodhamasamādhāya cakṣuṣī nimīlya tata eva kāryyotpattidarśanāditi sādhyānuvādamātrapravṛttaḥ kṛpāmarhatīti| na ca pratyabhijñādibalādekatvasidviḥ tat pauruṣasya lūnapunarjātakeśanakhādāvapyupalambhato nirddalanāt, lakṣaṇabhedasya ca darśayitumaśakyatvāt| sthirasidvidūṣaṇe cāsmābhiḥ prapañcato nirastatvāt| tasmāt sākṣāt kāryyakāraṇabhāvāpekṣayā ubhayatrāpyanyayogavyavacchedaḥ| vyāptau tu sākṣātparamparayā kāraṇamātrāpekṣayā kāraṇe vyāpake'yogavyavacchedaḥ| kāryye vyāpye'nyayogavyavacchedaḥ| tathā tadatatsvabhāve vyāpake'yogavyavacchedaḥ| tatsvabhāve ca vyāpye'nyayogavyavacchedo vikalpāruḍharūpāpekṣayā vyāptau dvividhamavadhāraṁam| nanu yadi pūrvvāparakālayorekasvabhāvo bhāvaḥ sarvvadājanakatvenājanakatvena vā vyāpta upalabdhaḥ syāttadāyaṁ prasaṅgaḥ saṅgacchate| na kṣaṇabhaṅgavādinā pūrvvāparakālayorekaḥ kaścidupalabdha iti cet| tadetadatigrāmyaṁ| tathāhi pūrvvāparakālayorekasvabhāvatve satītyasyāyamarthaḥ| parakālabhāvī janako yaḥ svabhāvo bhāvasya sa eva yadi pūrvvakālabhāvī| pūrvvakālabhāvī vā yo'janakaḥ svabhāvaḥ sa eva yadi parakālabhāvī, tadopalabdhameva jananamajananambā syāt, tathā ca sati sidvayoreva svabhāvayorekatvārope sidvameva jananamajananambā'sajyata iti|
nanu kāryyameva sahakāriṇamapekṣate| na tu kāryyotpattihetuḥ| yasmāt dvividhaṁ sāmarthya nijamāgantukañca sahakāryyantaraṁ tato'kṣaṇikasyāpi kramavat sahakārinānātvādapi kramavat kāryyanānātvopapatteraśakyaṁ bhāvānāṁ pratikṣaṇamanyānyatvamupapādayitumiti cet| ucyate| bhavatu tāvannijāgantukabhedena dvividhaṁ sāmarthyaṁ| tathāpi yat prātisvikaṁ vastusvalakṣaṇaṁ arthakriyādharmmakamavaśyamabhyupagantavyaṁ tat kiṁ prāgapi paścādeva veti vikalpya yaddūṣaṇamugdīritaṁ| tatra kimuktamaneneti na pratīmaḥ| yattu kāryyeṇaiva sahakāriṇo'pekṣanta ityupatkṛtaṁ tadapi nirupayogaṁ| yadi hi kāryyameva svajanmani svatantraṁ syādyuktametat| kevalamevaṁ sati sahakārisākalyasāmarthyakalpanamaphalaṁ| svātantryādeva hi kāryyaṁ kādācitkaṁ bhaviṣyati| tathā ca sati santo hetavaḥ sarvvathā'samarthāḥ| asadetat kāryyaṁ svatantramiti viśuddhā budviḥ| atha kāryyasyaivāyamaparādho yadidaṁ samarthe kāraṇe satyapi kadācinnopapadyata iti cet| na tattarhi tat kāryyaṁ svātantryāt| yadbhāṣyaṁ|
sarvvāvasthāsamāne'pi kāraṇe yadyakāryyatā|
svatantraṁ kāryyamevaṁ syānnatatkāryyantathā sati||
atha na tadbhāve bhavatīti tatkāryyamucyate, kintu tadabhāvena bhavatyeveti vyatirekaprādhānyāditi cet| na | yadi hi svayambhavan bhāvayedeva hetuḥ svakāryyaṁ tadā tadabhāvaprayukto'syābhāva iti pratītiḥ syāt| no ced yathā kāraṇe satyapi kāryyasvātantryānna bhavati| tathā tadabhāve'pi svātantryādeva na bhūtamiti śaṅkā kena nivāryyeta| yadbhāṣyaṁ|
tadbhāve'pi na bhāvaścedabhāve'bhāvitā kutaḥ|
tadabhāvaprayuktosya so'bhāva iti tat kutaḥ||
tasmād yathaiva tadbhāve niyamena na bhavati| tathaiva tadbhāve niyamena bhavedeva| abhavacca na tatkāraṇatāmātmanaḥ kṣamate| yaccoktaṁ, prathamakāryyotpādanakāle hṛttarakāryyotpādanasvabhāvaḥ| ataḥ prathamakāla evāśeṣāṇi kāryyāṇi kuryyāditi| tadidaṁ mātā me vandhyetyādivat svavacananirodhādayuktaṁ, yo hṛttarakāryyajananasvabhāvaḥ sa kathamādau kāryyaṁ kuryyāt| na tarhi tatkāryyakaraṇasvabhāvaḥ na hi nīlotpādanasvabhāvaḥ pītādikamapi karotīti|
atrocyate| sthirasvabhāvatve hi bhāvasya uttarakālamevedaṁ kāryyaṁ na pūrvvakālamiti kuta etat| tadabhāvācca kāraṇamapi uttarakāryyakaraṇasvabhāvamityapi kutaḥ| kiṁ kurmmaḥ uttarakālameva tasya janmeti cet; astu sthiratve tadanupapadyamānamasthiratāmādiśatu; sthiṣtvepyeṣa eva svabhāvastasya yaduttarakṣaṇa eva karotīti cet| utedānīṁ pramāṇapratyāśā| dhūmādagnirityatrāpi svabhāva evāsya yadidānīmatra niragnirapi dhūma iti vaktuṁ śakyatvāt| tasmāt pramāṇasidve svabhāvāvalambanaṁ, na tu svabhāvāvalambanena pramāṇavyālopaḥ| tasmād yadi kāraṇasyottarakāryyakārakatvamabhyupagamya kāryyasya prathamakṣaṇabhāvitvamāsajyate, syāt svavacanavirodhaḥ| yadā tu kāraṇasya sthiratve kāryyasyottarakālatvamevāsaṅgatam| ataḥ kāraṇasyāpyuttarakāryyajanakatvaṁ vastuto'sambhavi tadā prasaṅgasādhanamidaṁ| jananavyavahāragocaratvaṁ hi jananena vyāptamiti prasādhitaṁ| uttarakāryyajananavyavahāragocaratvañca tvadabhyupagamāt prathamakāryyakaraṇakāla eva ghaṭe dharmmiṇi sidvaṁ| atastanmātrānubandhina uttarābhimatasya kāryyasya prathame kṣaṇe'sambhavādeva prasaṅgaḥ kriyate| na hi nīlakārake'pi pītakārakatvārope pītasambhavaprasaṅgaḥ svavacanavirodhonāma| tadevaṁ śaktaḥ sahakāryyanapekṣitatvāt jananena vyāptaḥ| ajanayaṁśca śaktāśaktatvavirudvadharmmādhyāsādbhinna eva| nanu bhavatu prasaṅgaviparyyayabalādekakāryyaṁ pratiśaktāśaktatvalakṣaṇavirudvadharmmādhyāsaḥ| tathāpi na tato medaḥ sidhyati; tathāhi bījamaṅkurādikaṁ kurvvad yadi yenaiva svabhāvenāṅkuraṁ karoti tenaiva kṣityādikantadākṣityādīnāmapyaṅkurasvābhāvyāpattiḥ| nānāsvabhāvatvena tu kārakatve svabhāvānāmanyonyābhāvāvyabhicāritvādekatra bhāvābhāvau parasparavirudvau syātāmityekamapi bījaṁ bhidyeta| evaṁ pradīpo'pi tailakṣayavarttidāhādikaṁ; tathā pūrvvarūpamapyuttararūparasagandhādikamanekaiḥ svabhāvaiḥ parikaritaṁ karoti| teṣāñca svabhāvānāmanyonyābhāvāvyabhicārādvirudvānāṁ yoge pradīpādikaṁ bhidyeta| na ca bhidyate| tanna ! virudvadharmmādhyāso bhedakaḥ, tathā bījasyāṅkuraṁ prati kārakatvaṁ garddabhādikaṁ pratyakārakatvamiti kārakatvākārakatve api virudvau dharmau| na ca tadyoge'pi bījabhedaḥ| tadevamekatra bīje pradīpe rūpe ca vipakṣe paridṛśyamānaḥ śaktāśaktatvādirvirudvadharmmādhyāso na ghaṭāderbhedaka iti|
atra brūmaḥ| bhavatu tāvadvījādīnāmanekakāryyakāritvādvarmmabhūtānekasvabhāvabhedastathāpi kaḥ prastāvovirudvadharmmādhyāsasya| svabhāvānāṁ hyanyonyābhāvāvyabhicāre bhedaḥ prāptāvasaro na virodhaḥ| virodhastu yadvidhāne yanniṣedho yanniṣedhe yadvidhānaṁ tayorekatradharmmiṇi parasparaparihārasthitatayā syāt| tadatraikaḥ svbhāvaḥ svābhāvena virudvo yukto bhāvābhāvavat| na tu svabhāvāntareṇa| ghaṭatvavastutvavat| evamaṅkurādikāritvaṁ tadakāritvena virudvaṁ na punarvastvantarakāritvena| pratyakṣavyāpāraścātra yathā nānādharmmairadhyāsitaṁ bhāvamabhinnaṁ vyavasthāpayati| tathā tatkāryyakāriṇaṁ kāryyāntarākāriṇañca| tadyadi pratiyogitvābhāvādanyonyābhāvāvyabhicāri ṇāvapi svabhāvāvavirudvo tatkārakatvānyākārakatve vā viṣayabhedādavirudve, tat kimāyātamekakāryyamprati śaktāśaktatvayoḥ parasparapratiyoginīrvirudvayordharmmayoḥ| etayorapi punaravirodhe virodho nāma dattajalāñjaliḥ| bhavatu tarhyekakāryyāpekṣayaiva sāmarthyāsāmarthyayorvirodhaḥ| kevalaṁ yathā tadeva kāryyaṁ prati kvaciddeśe śaktirdeśāntare cāśaktiriti deśabhedādavirudve śaktayaśaktī tathaikatraiva kāryye kālabhedādapyavirudve| yathāpūrvvaṁ nniḥkriyaḥ sphaṭikaḥ sa eva paścāt sakriya iti cet|
ucyate| na hi vayaṁ paribhāṣāmātrādekatra kāryye deśabhedādavirudve śaktyaśaktī brūmaḥ| kintu virodhābhāvāt| taddeśakāryya kāritvaṁ hi taddeśakāryyākāritvena virudvaṁ| na punardeśāntare tatkāryyākāritvenānyakāryyakāritvena vā| yadyevantatkālakāryyakāritvaṁ tatkālakāryyākāritvena virudvaṁ| na punaḥ kālāntare tatkāryyākāritvenānyakāryyakāritvena vā| tatkathaṁ kālabhede'pi virodha iti cet| ucyate| dvayorhi dharmmayorekatradharmmiṇyanavasthitiniyamaḥ parasparaparihārasthitilakṣaṇo virodhaḥ| sa ca sākṣātparasparapratyanīkatayā bhāvābhāvavadvā bhavet| ekasya vā niyamena pramāṇāntareṇa bādhanānnityatvasattvavadvā bhavediti na kaścidarthabhedaḥ| tadatraikadharmmiṇi tat kālakāryyakāritvādhāre kālāntare tatkāryyākāritvasyānyakāryyakāritvasya vā niyamena pramāṇāntareṇa bādhanādvirodhaḥ| tathā hi yatraiva dharmmiṇi tatkālakāryyakāritvamupalabdhanna tatraiva kālāntare tat kāryyākāritvamanyakāryyakāritvaṁ vā brahmaṇāpyupasaṁharttuṁ śakyate, yenānayoravirodhaḥ syāt| kṣaṇāntare kathita prasaṅgaviparyyayahetubhyāmavaśyambhāvena dharmmibhedaprasādhanāt| na ca pratyabhijñānādekatvasidviḥ| tat pauruṣasya nirmmūlitatvāt| ata eva vajro'pi pakṣakūkṣau nikṣiptaḥ kathamasau sphaṭiko varākaḥ kālabhedenābhedāsādhanāya dṛṣṭāntībhavitumarhati| na caivaṁ samānakālakāryyāṇāṁ deśabhede'pi dharmmibhedo yukto bhedasādhakapramāṇābhāvādindriyapratyakṣeṇa nirastavibhramāśaṅkenābhedaprasādhanācca| iti na kālabhede'pi śaktyaśaktyorvirodhaḥ svasamayamātrādapahastayituṁ śakyaḥ| samayapramāṇayorapravṛtteriti|
tasmāt sarvvatra virudvadharmmādhyāsasidvireva bhedasidviḥ| vipratipannaṁ prati tu virudvadharmmādhyāsādbhedavyavahāraḥ sādhyate| nanu tathāpi sattvamidamanaikāntikamevāsādhāraṇatvāt sandigdhavyatirekatvādvā| yathā hīdaṁ kramākramanivṛtto akṣaṇikānnivṛttaṁ, tathā sāpekṣatvānāpekṣatvayorekatvānekatvayorapi vyāpakayornivṛttau kṣaṇikādapi| tathāhyupasapaṇapratyayena devadattakarapallavādinā sahacaro vījakṣaṇaḥ pūrvvasmādeva puñjāt samarthojāto'napekṣa ādyātiśayasya janaka iṣyate| tatra ca samānakuśūlajanmasu bahuṣu vijasantāneṣu kasmāt kiñcideva vījaṁ paramparayāṅkurotpādānuguṇamupajanayati bījakṣaṇānnānye vījakṣaṇā bhinnasantānāntaḥpātinaḥ| nahyupasarpaṇapratyayāt prāgeva teṣāṁ samānāsamānasantānavarttināṁ vījakṣaṇānāṁ kaścit paramparātiśayaḥ| athopasarpaṇāt prāṅna tat santāna varttino'pi janayanti paramparayāpyaṅkurotpādānuguṇaṁ vījakṣaṇaṁ vījamātrajananātteṣāṁ| kasyacideva vījakṣaṇasyopasarpaṇapratyayasahabhuva ādyātiśayotpādaḥ| hanta tarhi yadabhāve satyutpannopi na janayedeva| tathā kevalānāṁ vyabhicārasambhavādādyātiśayotpādamaṅkuraṁ vā prati kṣityādīnāṁ parasparāpekṣāṇāmevotpādakatvamakāmakenāpi svīkarttavyaṁ| ato na tāvadanapekṣā kṣaṇikasya sambhavinī| nāpya pekṣā yujyate| samasamayakṣaṇayoḥ savyetaragoviṣāṇayorivopakāryyopakārakabhāvāyogāditi nāsidvaḥ prathamo vyāpakābhāvaḥ| api cāntyo vījakṣaṇo'napekṣo'ṅkurādikaṁ kurvvan yadi yenaiva rūpeṇāṅkuraṁ karoti tenaiva kṣityādikaṁ| tadā kṣityādīnāmapi aṅkurasvābhāvyāpattirabhinnakāraṇātvāditi na tāvadekatvasambhavaḥ|
nanu rūpāntareṇa karoti| tathā hi vījasyāṅkuraṁ pratyupādānatvaṁ kṣityādikaṁ tu prati sahakāritvaṁ| yadyevaṁ sahakāritvopādānatve kimekantatvaṁ nānā vā| ekañceta kathaṁ rūpāntareṇa janakaṁ| nānātve tvanayorvījādbhedo'bhedo vā| bhede kathaṁ vījasya janakatvaṁ tābhyāmevāṅkurādīnāmutpatteḥ| abhede vā kathaṁ vījasya na nānātvaṁ bhinnatādātmyāt| etayorvā ekatvamekatādātmyāt| yadyucyeta| kśityādau janayitavye tadupādānam purvvameva kṣityādivījasya rūpāntaramiti| na tarhi vījantadanapekṣaṁ kṣityādīnāṁ janakaṁ| tadanapekṣatve teṣāmaṅkurodbhedānupapatteḥ| na cānupakārakāṇyapekṣanta iti tvayaivoktaṁ| na ca kṣaṇasyopakārasambhavo'nyatra jananāt tasyābhedyatvādityanekatvamapi nāstīti dvitīyo'pi vyāpakābhāvo na sidvaḥ| tasmādasādhāraṇānaikāntikatvaṁ gandhavattvavaditi| yadi manyetānupakārakā api bhavanti sahakāriṇo'pekṣaṇīyāśca kāryyeṇānuvihitabhāvābhāvāt sahakaraṇācca| nanvanena krameṇākṣaṇikopi bhāvo'nupakārakānapi sahakāriṇaḥ kramavataḥ kramavatkāryyeṇānukṛtānvayavyatirekānapekṣiṣyate| kariṣyate ca kramavat sahakārivaśaḥ krameṇa kāryyāṇīti vyāpakānupalabdherasidveḥ| sandigdhavyatirekamanaikāntikaṁ sattvaṁ kṣaṇikatvasidvāviti||
atra brūmaḥ| kīdṛśaṁ punarapekṣārthamādāya kṣaṇikesāpekṣānapekṣatvanivṛttirūcyate| kiṁ sahakāriṇamapekṣata iti sahakāriṇāsyopakāraḥ karttavyaḥ|
atha pūrvvāvasthitasyaiva vījādeḥ sahakāriṇā saha sambhūyakaraṇaṁ| yadvā purvvāvasthitasyetyanapekṣamilitāvasthasya karaṇamātramapekṣārthaḥ| atra prathamapakṣasyāsambhavādanapekṣaiva kṣaṇikasya kathamubhayavyāvṛttiḥ| yadyanapekṣaḥ kṣaṇikaḥ, kimityupasarpaṇapratyayābhāve'pi na karoti| karotyeva yadi syāt| svayamasambhavī tu kathaṁ karotu| atha tadvā tādṛgvā āsīditi na kaścidviśeṣaḥ| tatastādṛksvabhāvasambhavepyakaraṇaṁ sahakāriṇi nirapekṣatāṁ na kṣamata iti cet| asambadvametat| varṇasaṁsthānasāmyepyakarttustatsvabhāvatāyā virahāt| sa cādyātiśayajanakatvalakṣaṇaḥ svabhāvaviśeṣo na samānāsamānasantānavarttiṣu vījakṣaṇeṣu sarvveṣveva sambhavī kintu keṣucideva karmmakarakara pallavasahacareṣu| nanvekatra kṣetre niṣpattilabanādipūrvvakamānīyaikatra kuśūle kṣiptāni sarvvāṇyeva vījāni sādhāraṇarūpāṇyeva pratīyante, tat kutastyo'yamekavījasambhavī viśeṣonyeṣāmiti cet|
ucyate| kāraṇaṁ khalu sarvvatra kāryye dvividhaṁ dṛṣṭamadṛṣṭañca sarvvāstikaprasidvametat| tataḥ pratyakṣaparokṣasahakāripratyayasākalyamasarvvavidā pratyakṣato na śakyaṁ pratipattuṁ| tato bhavedapi kāraṇasāmagrīśaktibhedāttādṛśaḥ svabhāvabhedaḥ keṣāñcideva vījakṣaṇānāṁ yena taeva vījakṣaṇā ādyātiśayamaṅkurambā paramparayā janayeyu rnānye vījakṣaṇāḥ| nanu yeṣūpasarpaṇapratyayasahacareṣu svakāraṇaśaktibhedādādyātiśayajanakatvalakṣaṇo viśeṣaḥ sambhāvyate, sa tatrāvaśyamastīti kuto labhyamiti cet| aṅkurotpādādanumitādādyātiśayalakṣaṇāt kāryyāditi brūmaḥ| kāraṇānupalabdhestarhi tadabhāva eva bhaviṣyatīti cet| na dṛśyādṛśyasamudāyasya kāraṇasyādarśanepyabhāvasidveḥ kāraṇānupalabdheḥ sandigdhāsidvatvāt| tadayamarthaḥ| pāṇisparśavataḥ kṣaṇasya na bhedabhinnānyakālakṣaṇādbhedo veti matadvaye mitibalaṁ yasyāstyasau jitvaraḥ| tatraikasya balaṁ nimittavirahaḥ kāryyāṅgamanyasya vā| sāmagrī tu na sarvvathekṣaṇasahā kāryyantu mānānugamamiti||
tadevaṁ nopakāro'pekṣārtha ityanapekṣyaiva kṣaṇikasya sahakāriṣu nobhayavyāvṛttiḥ| atha sambhūyakaraṇamapekṣārthaḥ| tadā yadi pūrvvasthitasyeti viśeṣaṇāpekṣā tadā kṣaṇikasya naivaṁ kadācidityanapekṣaivākṣīṇā| atha pūrvvāsthitasyetyanapekṣyamilitāvasthitasyaiva karaṇamapekṣārthastadā sāpekṣataiva nānapekṣa| tathā ca nobhayavyāvṛttirityasidvaḥ prathamo vyāpakānupalambhaḥ| tathaikatvānekatvayorapi vyāpakayoḥ kṣaṇikādvyāvṛttirasidvā| tattadyāvṛttibhedamāśrityopādānatvādikālpanikasvabhāvabhede'pi paramārthata ekenaiva svarūpeṇānekakāryyaniṣpādanādubhayavyāvṛtterabhāvāt| yacca vījasyaikenaiva svabhāvena kārakatve kṣityādīnāmaṅkurasvābhāvyāpattiranyathā kāraṇābhede'pi kāryyabhede'pi kāryyasyāhetukatvaprasaṅgādityuktaṁ tadasaṅgataṁ| kāraṇaikatvasya kāryyabhedasya ca paṭunendriyapratyakṣeṇa prasādhanāt| ekakāraṇajanyatvaikatvayorvyāpteḥ pratihatatvāt| prasaṅgasyānupadatvāt| yacca kāraṇābhede kāryyābheda ityuktaṁ tatra sāmagrīsvarūpaṁ kāraṇamabhipretaṁ sāmagrīsajātīyatve na kāryyavijātīyatetyarthaḥ| na punaḥ sāmagrīmadhyagatenaikenānekaṁ kāryyaṁ na karttavyaṁ nāma| ekasmādanekotpatteḥ pratyakṣasidvatvāt| na caivaṁ pratyabhijñānāt kālabhedepyabhedasidvirityuktaprāyam| na cendriyapratyakṣaṁ bhinnadeśaṁ sapratighaṁ dṛśyamarthadvayamekamevopalambhayatīti kvacidupalabdhaṁ yena tatrāpi bhedaśaṅkā syāt| śaṅkāyāmbā paṭupratyakṣasyāpyapalāpe sarvvapramāṇocchedaprasaṅgāt| nāpi sandigdhavyatirekaḥ| kṣityāderdrabyāntarasya vījasvabhāvatvenāsmābhirasvīkṛtatvāt anupakāriṇyapekṣāyāḥ pratyākhyānāt| vyāpakānupalambhasyāsidvatvāyogāt| tadetau dvāvapi vyāpakānupalambhāvasidvau na kṣaṇikāt sattvannivarttata iti nāyamasādhāraṇo hetuḥ| api ca vidyamāno bhāvaḥ sādhyetarayoraniścitānvayavyatireko gandhavattādivadasādhāraṇo yuktaḥ| prakṛtavyāpakānupalambhācca sarvvathārthakriyaivāsatī ubhābhyāmbādibhyāmubhayasmādvinivarttitatvena nirāśrayatvāt| tat kathamasādhāraṇānaikāntikī bhaviṣyatyalaṁ pralāpini nirbbandhena| tadevaṁ śaktasya kṣepāyogāt samarthavyavahāragocaratvaṁ jananena vyāptamiti prasaṅgaviparyyayayoḥ sattve hetorapi nānaikāntikatvamataḥ kṣaṇabhaṅgasidviriti sthitam||
iti sādharmyadṛṣṭānte'nvayarūpavyāptyā
kṣaṇabhaṅgasidviḥ samāptā||
